Nha Trang is a coastal city and a center of politics, economy, culture, science and technology and tourism in the province of Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. Before becoming the land of Vietnam, Nha Trang belongs Champa. The ruins of the Cham remains in parts of Nha Trang.
Nha Trang Overview
NhaTrang located in Khanh Hoa Province which lies in the South Central Coast of Vietnam is famous for beach holidays. In fact, Nha Trang has currently been identified as one of the 10 biggest tourist service center of the country. On May 5th, 2003 Nha Trang Bay is recognized as an official member of the Club of the most beautiful bays in the world; therefore, Nha Trang will be a nice destination for a Vietnam beach holidays.
Nha Trang History
The name of Khanh Hoa was established in 1832 – the 13th year of King Minh Mang’s reign. The land consisted of two countries and districts. Dien Khanh country then included the two districts of Phuoc Dien and Vinh Xuong; and Ninh Hoa Country comprised the two districts of Quang Phuoc and Tan Dinh.

During the Nguyen dynasty, under the French colonialist rule, the central seat of the province was at Dien Khanh. By early 1945, Nha Trang Town (now Nha Trang City) became the administrative seat of the province until the present day.
Nha Trang climate and best time to visit
Khanh Hoa has a tropical monsoon climate with an average temperature of 26.5ºC. The rain season lasts 4 months (from September to December), and the rest of time is normally dry.  It is better to enjoy Nha Trang beach holiday from  February to April. 
Nha Trang Transportation
Nha Trang
It is 105 km far from Phan Rang, 190 km from Buon Ma Thuot, 205 km from Da Lat, 238 km from Quy Nhon, 441 km from Ho Chi Minh City, and 1,278km from Hanoi.

 
Road
The National Highway 1A and the railway from north to south run through Khanh Hoa Province, linking it with the other provinces in the North and South. The National Highway 26 links Khanh Hoa to some provinces in the Central Highland.
 
Airlines
Nha Trang Airport is 5km far from the center of the city. Vietnam Airlines offers daily connections with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and four connections a week with Da Nang. Cam Ranh Airport is 35km south of Nha Trang has flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang to there.
 
Train
Regular connections between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City all stop in Nha Trang; there is a daily train between Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang.

 
Bus
There are connections with Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Vinh, Pleiku...


Water
Cam Ranh and Nha Trang ports connect Khanh Hoa with many regions in Vietnam as well as with abroad.
Things to do and see in Nha trang
Dai Lanh Beach
It is situated in Van Ninh District, 80km north of Nha Trang, close to the National Highway 1A, and becomes one of the most beautiful beaches with wonderful nature because of white and mostly sand along with casuarinas.
 
Doc Let Beach
This is the more relaxing, beautiful and cleaner beach in Nha Trang. It is around 50 km north of Nha Trang. The most attractive thing is delicious cuisine here. Local fishermen families sell and prepare seafood which they will cook for you on the beach for a very reasonable price.

Fairies' Stream
Fairies' Stream is located in the south of Dien Khanh District, more than 20km from Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province.
 
The charming scenery has given birth to many legends; fairies would leave Heaven to come bathing at the stream. Male deity played chess on stone blocks. Footprints left by a giant who, in a moment of enchantment when seeing the fairies swimming, slipped and nearly fell down into the water.
 
Hon Chong (Chong Rocks)
Hon Chong is located 3.5km from the center of Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province. It consists of massive rocks lying on top of one another.
 
Hon Chong is divided into two parts. One part is situated offshore and the other is in the sand dunes at the Cu Lao Fishing Hamlet. The offshore cluster includes layer after layer of massive rock emerging from the sea. These layers of rocks act as natural wave breakers.
 
Hon Mun Island
Hon Mun Island is situated on the south of Nha Trang Bay, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province.
 
Named Hon Mun because, in the southeast of the island, it has high-rise cliffs with dangerous wattles forming caves and grottoes, especially its stones are as black as ebony, which could rarely be found in other areas.
 
In the black-stone caves of Hon Mun, every year flocks of swallow migrate to the area and build their nests. Due to the island's location adjacent to the hot sea-currents from the equator, suitable to the development conditions of corals and various types of tropical sea creatures, the seabed of Hon Mun is home to an abundant and diverse group of marine species, an interesting and useful place for researchers, oceanographers and tourists to observe and explore more of the sea creatures' life.
  
Lao Islands
They have become attractive ecotourism resorts for international and domestic tourists when visiting Tram Huong area. Lao Island is named "Monkey Island" because there are hundreds of monkeys living in flocks in the wild forest led by King and Queen monkeys and they are friendly with visitors. As coming to Lao Island, tourists can enjoy entertainments and recreational activities e.g. sea bathing, boat racing, horse riding, fishing, visiting in flowers, birds and golden fishes parks, especially circuit performances of elephants, bears, monkeys, dogs, and cats.
 
Thap Ba Hot Spring Centre
Thap Ba Hot Spring Centre is situated on Ngoc Son Hamlet, Ngoc Hiep Ward, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province.

The hot spring mineral water and also mineral mud silica are recognized on the medicine good for health. Besides the effect of relaxing and the stimulating of the nervous system acting, the hot spring water and also mineral mud have an effect on the skin that curing normal skin disease and making the skin whitest and softest.
 
Van Phong Bay
Van Phong Bay is located 50km from Nha Trang toward the north. This beautiful landscape is endowed with wonderful natural sceneries and beaches of fine sand, an ideal temperate climate, surrounded by hills, mountains, and tropical forests. The sea is all the more embellished with colorful coral reefs, vestiges of mangrove forests, rare sea creatures in an ideal environment.
 
These are great potentials for the development of ecological tourism in Van Phong. In the plan toward the year 2010, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism declares Van Phong as "the most important region for tourism development". There are many forms of water sports and uphill tourism here, including sea diving, water skiing, sail boating, mineral water bathing, and hunting.
 
Am Chua Temple
Am Chua Temple is situated on Dai An Mount in Dien Dien Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province, it was built long ago to dedicate to Lady Goddess Po Nagar.
 
According to the legend, this was a place where the Goddess descended on earth. The temple was restored many times, and today it looks nicely. Every year, on the first, the second and the third day of the third lunar month, the festival is organized at the temple which is attracting many Cham and Viet people to attend.
 
Institute of Oceanography
Institute of Oceanography located on an elevated land, at 1 Cau Da St., next to Cau Da Wharf, about 6km from the center of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province, was established in 1923, was one of the first centers for scientific research in Vietnam.

It is undeniable that Nha Trang is an excellent location for tropical oceanographic research because its convenient location

The Marine Animal Museum shows more than 20,000 sea and freshwater specimens, as well as living creatures that are kept in glass tanks.
 
Po Nagar Cham Towers
Po Nagar Cham Towers situated on Cu Lao marble hill, 2km north of Nha Trang, in Khanh Hoa Province were built between the 8th and 13th centuries. The largest of the four remaining towers was built in honor of the Goddess Po Nagar, also known as Lady Thien Y Ana or Lady Mother of the Kingdom.
 
The towers are not only famous for their architecture and sculpture, but also their great significance in history, nationalism, and archaeology.
 
Diving and snorkeling
There are a number of islands close to Nha Trang ideal for diving and snorkeling which can be arranged from 1 day to a longer period. More than 20 dive shops compete for customers driving prices down.
 
Nha Trang also offers the best value in the world for certification training, and diving courses are given during the whole year. However, in the windy season from October - December diving is limited to fewer places.
 
Nha Trang Sailing activity:
It is better to enjoy Nha Trang private tours or Nha Trang family tours together with friends and relatives; of course, the trip will bring fantastic sailing experience.
 
Nha Trang Surfing activity:
For people who are interested in surfing, Nha Trang is the best place to do that. The Shack is the best place in Nha Trang for surfing lessons. The Shack is in Bai Dai beach about 21.6 km south of Nha Trang.
 
Nha Trang Travel Tips
On Nha Trang beach, vendors sell about everything, so it is easy to buy seafood, fruit, drinks, and books. If you find it an inconvenient hassle, don't support them.

Please take care when choosing a scuba diving operator or boat operator as some of the companies use outdated equipment because it may be harmful to your safety as well as not environmentally friendly to the marine ecosystem
